What We Do
MEDIA CENTRE DEVELOPMENT & MANAGEMENT FOR LARGE SCALE EVENTS
The team at LBMG has a combined total of more than 70 media centres and events under our belt within the past decade – and we believe we know what it takes to attract media, service them on-site, keep them interested and engaged over an extended event period, create a positive environment, and utilize the opportunity of media access to promote our clients. We are also knowledgeable and familiar with the technology required for multi-ethnic and multi-jurisdictional media to complete their tasks, and we understand the different technical and broadcast formats and practices used by media from around the world.
For World Urban Forum3, an event with some 10,000 participants from more than 100 countries, our team developed a comprehensive media strategy and plan, as well as a media centre with a capacity for 150 media. We worked with exhibition designers to create a space international media could work in and file from for numerous timelines. We also negotiated a host broadcaster agreement (CBC), providing live pool-feeds to media at the event, and feeding the signal via fiber, making information available for media around the world.

LBMG is currently in the process of building and preparing to operate the British Columbia International Media Centre. A prime hub for members of the working press, the BCIMC will accommodate more than 3,000 media visits over the course of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games (February 12 to 28, 2010). It will be used to promote British Columbia and its businesses, communities, and tourism opportunities to the world, and will be a key provider of support services tailored specifically to meet the needs of media. The 2,600 square metre IMC is a full service high definition broadcasting facility, which includes comfortable, secure, and fully wired networking and operating space. The Centre will provide access to athletes, dignitaries and government leaders, as well as contacts to stories happening outside official Olympic Venues.
We are also experienced in media vetting and accreditation, and we are proud to say that we have never had to remove someone from a media centre, nor has anyone gained access to an event, through our media accreditation process.
