Harbinder Singh, Publisher, The Asian Pacific Post, The South Asian Post and The Filipino Post

Founding publisher of The Asian Pacific Post, The South Asian Post and The Filipino Post, Harbinder Singh was the first to create a broad-based, English-language newspaper that brings contextual geo-political news to newly arrived immigrants in Vancouver, while highlighting local issues that affect their diverse communities. Singh’s original newspaper in Vancouver was called the Southeast Asian Post. In 2001, he changed the masthead to Asian Pacific Post and set up newspaper boxes across the city. In 2003, the Asian Pacific Post won the prestigious Jack Webster Award for excellence in community reporting, thrusting the newspaper into the mainstream media consciousness. Moving from strength to strength, Singh launched the weekly South Asian Post, to target Western Canada’s South Asian population and the Filipino Post. Within a year of its launch, The South Asian Post became the first Indo-Canadian publication to win the prestigious Jack Webster Award for excellence in community reporting. The Post group also has a distribution alliance with Vancouver’s top dailies, The Vancouver Sun and The Province, to provide unique platforms for advertisers to reach an influential consumer market.
